A Wonderful Life

A Wonderful Life

The wind rustles through the tree,
leaves shiver softly.
The waves of the sea
press against the rocks on the beach.
The moon shines in all its glory,
illuminates the darkness,
the stars sparkle clear
that night.
She sits on the porch,
In the balcony.
Look out over the sea,
through the night,
sees the horizon.
She enjoys
the perfection that night,
the peace, the freedom,
the unspoiled nature.
A soft squeak
temporarily interrupts the silence.
A glance to the side,
She stretches out her hand.
He holds it tight.
Sit beside her,
gives her a smile,
and press her hand tightly.
Together on the porch,
their ears listens to the nature.
The eyes hold in the distance,
life wanders past them.
As small children, they played
together in the sandbox,
grew up together.
Later on,
out of friendship grew love.
The first love, true love.
After college, they got married.
Together a lifetime.
And now, with gray hair,
so old together
on the porch, enjoying
the last night together.
"I love you!"
He speaks softly to her.
Gives her a kiss,
holds her hand tightly.
One last smile
she give it to him.
A Wonderful Life:
Love, happiness, satisfaction.
They close their eyes,
their lives over.
Their body leaves this plane,
the souls together forever.
